KSI vs Joe Fournier at MF & DAZN: X Series 007, at the OVO Arena Wembley, Saturday night, live on DAZN and DAZN PPV
KSI looks to continue his crossover boxing success on Saturday Night, when he takes on Joe Fournier at the MF & DAZN: X Series 007 event in London. KSI was last in action at the start of the year when he made easy work of FaZe Temper with a first round knockout. Now the British YouTuber faces one of his toughest tests in Fournier, who has fought in nine bouts as a professional boxer.
KSI vs. Fournier will be live on DAZN PPV markets around the world including in the USA ($19.99), CA (C$19.99), AUS (AUD $14.99), NZ (NZD $14.99), NLD (€9.99), MEX (M$ 180), FR (€9.99), SWE (kr 105), DEN (kr 35), NOR (kr 50), FIN (€9.99) and BR (R$ 49.90) plus a month’s subscription to the DAZN service. For the UK there is a special offer for New Subscribers; the PPV is priced at £19, plus one month’s subscription to DAZN, available for £0.99 only on DAZN.com. For existing subscribers it is just a standard £19.99 PPV.
Joe Fournier shoved KSI as tempers flared when the bitter rivals came face-to-face ahead of their colossal crossover clash.
KSI and Fournier meet at MF & DAZN: X Series 007 at the OVO Arena Wembley, on May 13, live and exclusive on DAZN and DAZN PPV.
Verbal volleys had been exchanged between the KSI, the King of crossover boxing, and Fournier, the 9-0 professional boxer, but both men had kept their emotions in check during the press conference in London today.
But when they met for the customary face-off, proceedings threatened to boil over as Fournier lashed out by pushing KSI and the enemies had to be kept apart by security.
KSI said: “I felt like I needed to test myself. Jake Paul tested himself against Tommy Fury and failed. I want to be the one who succeeds. I know Joe is not going to make this easy for me, he is going to have the experience, but I have a lot of freakish traits that really make me stand out. My explosiveness, my power, I’m a very fast and explosive guy and when I hit people, they stayed hit.
“A lot of people think I’m going to get slept and I’m out of my depth and that I have no place to be fighting a 9-0 pro. But I am KSI, and I want to show the world that if you put your mind to something, you can do anything in this world.”
Fournier said: “I want to knock him out, clean, where he’s looking up at those lights at Wembley. I’m not doing it for the money, I’m doing it to hurt this guy, take his legacy and carry that through onto other fights.
“I want you to come out, swinging for the fences, and for us to have a proper scrap. I am coming to take the guy’s whole legacy and I will be the new face of Misfits Boxing. I want to have a scrap with the guy. Bring something to the table, I’ll give you another million and go and get more coaching. Whatever you do, bring the fight. I’m coming to put on a show and to deliver an exclusive: KSI, flat on the canvas, looking up at the stars.”
David Haye, advisor to Fournier and his former opponent, said: “Joe is the more complete fighter. I just can’t see KSI being able to close the gap to someone who has been boxing for as long as Joe. They have miscalculated. As big as the show is, there is going to be a massive upset.
“This fight has got the juices flowing. I know how hard Joe punches and I don’t think they do. I’m telling you; they’ve miscalculated.”
Alexis Demetriades, KSI’s coach, said: “I know Joe is a tough, durable guy and he can box but I know how much power KSI has in his hands, and this is way more competitive than David thinks it is, and way more dangerous than Joe thinks it is. Talk is cheap, I’ve seen people knocked clean out, and not just in his last fight, but in the gym as well.
“It might look as though we have bitten off more than we can chew but I’m super confident.”
