Misfits boxer questions Fury Sr’s conduct after press conference outburst toward Carl Froch

Darren Till has called John Fury “a proper bully” after Fury Sr launched a foul-mouthed rant at Carl Froch during the Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov press conference. The incident has fueled talk of a possible Froch clash while raising fresh scrutiny over Fury Sr’s conduct in boxing settings.

At the press conference, Froch stood on a raised platform alongside Lennox Lewis. Fury Sr, aware of his location, shouted: “Get that f***ing Carl Froch here.

“If he wants it I’m here. If you’re not willing to put up shut up.

“Run like a bh Carl Froch, run like a bh.”

The outburst continued despite Froch being visible in the venue. Backstage, Fury also directed insults at BBC commentator Steve Bunce and has since apologized.

Till addressed the episode in an interview with The Stomping Ground, questioning the credibility of the threats.

“He’s running around with his top off, saying he’s gonna do this and that, but Carl was there present. Like if you were really going to do it, you would just do it. I think he’s a proper bully, and he talks about (being a) fighting man, I don’t buy none of it. I don’t buy it. I’ve been in this boxing world, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone say a wrong word about Peter (Fury). I’ve met Shane. Shane is a very nice fella.

“I don’t know how they feel about me now, obviously, with the John and Tommy thing, but John’s a proper bully. I’ve seen what he’s done with Carl Frampton as well. You just don’t do that. I think he picks his mark. I’ve seen him headbutt lads half his size. I’ll be honest, I just think he’s a bully.”

For now, this remains a war of words. No commission has sanctioned a Froch bout. No governing body has attached weight to the exchange. The heavyweight title picture stays separate from the noise surrounding the Fury name.
