Darren Till Challenges Derek Chisora After Misfits Run

Darren Till wants Derek Chisora next. But Chisora is aligned with Deontay Wilder in a  heavyweight bout that keeps him in the contender mix

Till moved from the UFC to the boxing ring stopping Anthony Taylor, beating Darren Stewart, and knocking out Luke Rockhold in his professional debut. None required surviving 12 heavyweight rounds with veterans who start with the jab, reset their feet, and grind you into the ropes when the lungs start to burn.

Chisora has lived in that fire for years, taking rounds off elite heavyweights and staying upright when others folded. He has gone rounds with Oleksandr Usyk, traded hooks with Tyson Fury, and stayed in the contender mix long after others cleared out. He is already sanctioned to face Deontay Wilder, a fight that keeps him aligned with the top of the division.

Till told “The Stomping Ground”, “I’ll fight Chisora. Why wouldn’t I? He’s obviously a little bit weathered now, but the man hits like a truck. It would probably be a good time to fight Derek. He’s had a weathered career, fought the best, beat the best, had a few tasty knockouts, but what I am saying is, I’d fight him.”

Chisora’s Wilder Fight Carries Consequence Beyond a Crossover Callout

Chisora is a heavyweight who works behind the jab, resets his feet, and digs to the body over long rounds. About with Wilder keeps him positioned near the top of the division. A fight with Till would shift him toward exhibition territory.

Till has shown willingness and power at his level, but he has not been through the kind of heavyweight rounds where conditioning, range control, and body shots separate contenders from attractions. The jump from crossover contests to a veteran who has felt straight rights from elite punchers is steep.

This is where the sport has to draw its lines.
