Darren Till Dominates in Boxing Debut
The Misfits Boxing event at the Co-Op Arena witnessed a dominant performance by Darren Till, who stopped Anthony Taylor in the sixth round. However, the night took a worrying turn as Taylor collapsed post-fight, leaving fans and officials deeply concerned.
Till, a former MMA standout, made his boxing debut against Taylor, who stepped in on short notice after Tommy Fury withdrew. From the opening bell, Till’s hand speed and sharp counterpunching proved too much for Taylor. The Liverpudlian threatened a KO throughout the fight and eventually secured the stoppage in the sixth round.
Anthony Taylor Collapses Post-Fight
Following the fight, Taylor collapsed after completing his post-fight interview. He was quickly administered oxygen and later taken from the venue in a wheelchair, sparking fears of a serious injury.
Reports from Uncrowned’s Ariel Helwani confirmed that Taylor was stable after being treated and was cleared to return to his accommodation. Misfits co-founder Mams Taylor reassured fans, stating that Taylor regained consciousness and was “alert and fine” after the incident.
Taylor Speaks Out After Harrowing Incident
Taylor later addressed the situation on social media, showing resilience and humor despite the setback. “It’s all good, I took the L like a mother f***r,” he said. “I’ll be back. I’m all good. Thank you all for the love and support, and thank you to everybody who is also making fun of me—I don’t give a fk. I deserve it. But at the end of the day, I’ll be fking back.”
The American, who holds a 7-5 MMA record and 7-4 in boxing, also called out Tommy Fury on social media, suggesting Fury pulled out of the fight due to fear.
Misfits Boxing 20: Short-Notice Matchup
This main event came together after Tommy Fury withdrew, citing concerns over Till’s claim that he might use “MMA tactics” if the fight didn’t go his way—a statement Till later clarified as a marketing ploy. Taylor was confirmed as the replacement on December 29, giving him limited time to prepare.
